Holiday home La Torre di Cusano
In the hills of the Abruzzo, amidst a thousand different colors of green, there is a typical farmhouse with the ancient village of Abbateggio in the background. The village of Abbateggio is part of the "Borghi più belli d'Italia" , a leading organization of the most beautiful villages in Italy. The house owes its name to the tower in Cusano. Once part of an extensive network of observation towers that signaled imminent danger from the valley. Cusano is therefore already indicated on ancient maps as "Torre di Cusano".

Our holiday home "La torre di Cusano" dates from the nineteenth century, our grandparents were born and raised here. As a child and young adult we have spent many adventurous and unforgettable holidays here. Nature is breathtakingly beautiful. In the distance lies the Gran Sasso, which turns a beautiful pink in the evening sun, and the Majella mountains embrace, the house.
The Adriatic Sea and the long sandy beaches of the seaside resort of Pescara are half an hour away by car, so a day (or several) to the beach is also possible.

Thanks to a thorough renovation, which has not affected the character of the house, a beautiful country house has been created in which it is wonderful to stay.
An ideal location for those who love nature, silence and the slow rhythm of the countryside.
La torre di Cusano consists of two completely independent units that can be rented separately, but also as a whole. Space for a total of 12 people.
Our apartments
La Torre di Cusano is a 2-storey stone country house. On each floor there is a luxury apartment with 3 bedrooms, spacious bathrooms, extensive and fully equipped kitchens and stylishly decorated living rooms with a fireplace. Both apartments are unique and completely independent of each other.

Foodie package
Good food and drinks are an important part of the holiday. That is why we offer our guests a welcome package on arrival with delicious local fresh products and a bottle of wine. A wonderful start to the holiday.
Free Wifi
Internet is an indispensable part of our daily life, so free WiFi throughout the house.
Garden
Around the house there are several places where you can sit. Seats between the plants with sun and shade. Both apartments also have an outdoor dining area with its own wood oven and BBQ.
Extra Cleaning
Holidays are holidays and so we offer, for those who wish, an extra cleaning possibility at charge
Swimming pool
The house itself does not (yet) have its own swimming pool, but plans are underway and are awaiting approval. In the meantime, there is a lovely outdoor swimming pool in the town of Caramanico Terme as an alternative.
Chef at home
No intension to be in the kitchen during the holidays? On request, we offer the possibility of a cook at home. A typical local Abruzzo dish every evening! Super fun to get acquainted with the Abruzzo kitchen up close.

Wine tasting
Abruzzo is a wine region par excellence, in the immediate vicinity of the house there are several wineries where it is possible to organize a tasting. From simple to very exclusive.

Culture
In the cultural field, Abruzzo offers a surprising amount of possibilities. From small churches in the immediate vicinity to beautiful museums in Chieti, Aquila and Pescara.
Local markets
In all villages in the area there is a market once a week, real authentic Italian market. Scenes from a bygone era with the sale of fruit and vegetables and local products. The best on Sunday in Lettomannopello
Nature
A short paragraph on this topic is certainly not enough. The nature in the area is so overwhelming that we devoted a separate page to it in the menu bar.
Within walking distance of the house is the "Cascata di Cusano" and a little further the beautiful turquoise sulphurous water of the Lavino river in the Parco Lavino
Thermal baths
In the town of Caramanico Terme, located 10 km away in a beautiful setting in the Parco Nazionale della Majella , it is possible to use the thermal baths and associated spa.

We highly recommend for outdoor excursions Il Bosso. A group of young, very enthusiastic guides with a heart for their environment. Trekking, mountain biking, canoeing, visit a wolf shelter, and much more.
